Plan your visit
With more animals than anywhere else in the South West, you're in for a really wild day out in Devon for all the family!

General
After you've discovered some of our animals, maybe think about refuelling yourself. There's the Island Restaurant serving hot meals and drinks, plus many snack stations dotted around the grounds with ice creams and other tasty treats; and before you go home, be sure to visit the Living World gift shop offering a great selection of gifts and souvenirs.
So, if you are wondering where to go for your family day out - come and visit us, but you'd better leave a whole day, you'll need it!
Seeing our animals
There may be times when some of our animals may not be viewable at the exact time that you visit an exhibit. If an animal is not immediately visible, they could be resting in their off-show area or somewhere out of view, so please make time to pop back later in the day - it will be worth the wait! For example, our big cats are usually more active and easier to spot in the afternoons.
If there is ever an animal off-show due to unforseen circumstances, essential maintenance work or the weather, we will always aim to give advance warning of such occasions. These will be listed on our Updates page and social media accounts. Thank you for your understanding.
Dogs
We regret that guest's dogs or pets are not permitted in the Zoo, except for guide or assistance dogs. Please not do leave any animals in your car or vehicle when you visit. See our FAQs page for further information.
