School Visits

We’re excited to be able to welcome educational and school groups to visit our wonderful animals again!

To make a booking and discuss what we can offer you, please email [email protected] or call 01803 697510.

Primary

  • We will meet you at our coach turning circle as you arrive, and give a short welcome and briefing with important instructions – this is delivered outdoors and includes updates on recent zoo animal news!
  • One of our trained educators will meet you during your visit at an enclosure to talk to pupils, introduce the animals and link to your classroom topic. We will bring along an interesting artefact or two from our amazing education collection (wet weather options are available). We think this is the best way for your pupils to link their zoo visit to their school learning.

NEW! We are working on a range of self-led resources for you to book to use during your visit to encourage pupil observation and enhance learning. Please enquire about these when you book your visit.

We have reimagined our popular education sessions. In place of our previous classroom-based lessons, we now offer a small selection of active and exploratory workshops – making the most of the unique teaching opportunities we have here at the zoo. These sessions are provided at an additional charge on your group’s day entry.
