Paignton Zoo, as part of South West Environmental Parks Ltd, reserves the right to amend, extend or full terminate this competition at any time without incurring liability. We will not be responsible, unless required by law, for any loss, changes, costs or expenses, which may arise in connection with this competition.
2. About the competition & general terms
This Paignton Zoo competition has been created in conjunction with our Comedy Club event.
The prizes are:
An animal experience package for two, worth up to £120
An animal adoption pack worth £50
A voucher worth £15 to be used on food/drink on the night of the event (13th July 2024)
One winner will be randomly selected from all the competition entries after the closing date on Tuesday 9th July 2024 at 11.59pm. Further contact to arrange the details of this prize will be carried out via phone / email. The competition is owned by South West Environmental Parks Ltd.
It is the responsibility of each individual entrant to ensure that they have read and obeyed the competition rules. Any entry found not to comply with the competition rules will be not be considered. By entering this competition, each individual entrant agrees to be bound by all of the terms and conditions outlined here, as well as South West Environmental Park’s general entry terms.
3. How to enter
All booking confirmations for the Comedy Club event will result in one automatic entry into the draw. Employees and volunteers of Paignton Zoo, Newquay Zoo, and Wild Planet Trust may not enter this competition. This competition is for UK residents only and entrants must be over the age of 18. No third party or automated entries are permitted.
4. Selection and notification of the winner
A winner will be randomly selected and notified on Wednesday 10th July.
The decision of the Promoter is final and no discussion will be entered into. By entering you acknowledge and agree that you may be required to be used in publicity if you are selected as a winner. By entering you also agree that your name may also be published on the official Paignton Zoo Facebook account to announce that you are the winner.
No alternative prize will be offered and the prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for a cash alternative.
5. Data protection
By entering this competition, each individual entrant agrees that, if they win, the Promoter may use their name to announce as the winner of this competition. Your details are provided to the Promoter only and not to Facebook or other social media platforms. This prize draw is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with any other platforms in any way.
By entering the competition, individual entrants agree that any personal information provided by you with your competition entry may be held and used by South West Environmental Parks for marketing communications purposes and for the purpose of administering the competition and the prize. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
6. Additional Animal Experience Terms & Conditions
All experiences must be booked at least one week in advance.
If you then cancel or change your experience within a week of it taking place you will be charged a £10 administration fee.
All experiences are booked on a first come first served basis. Please do not assume your experience is booked until you have received your experience pack for the date stated, or you have had confirmation by telephone.
You will be entering working environments; from time to time things may happen beyond our control and we may need to cancel your experience at short notice. If this happens you will be contacted via email or telephone at least 24 hours before your experience is due to take place. We recommend that you check your messages and emails before your visit in case we have contacted you.
Minimum age limits apply to all experiences: Giraffe Experience and Giant Tortoise Experience – 7 years or over, and Rhino Experience – 16 years or over.
For any children under the age of 16 or anyone requiring a carer, one adult is allowed entry behind the scenes for supervising purposes only.
Full admission price must be paid for any guests including the supervising adult.
Behind the scenes can be muddy and messy so please dress appropriately. Suitable clothing includes full length trousers and a lightweight coat in case of rain. For your safety closed toe shoes must be worn.
Giraffe experience – the Giraffe yard is suitable for wheelchairs but the house is not accessible
Paignton Zoo reserves the right to cancel your experience if you arrive more than 10 minutes late without prior agreement and unfortunately your experience can not be rescheduled.
For anyone requiring a carer, please provide eligibility in the form of PIP, DLA letter or blue badge. All carers must be over the age of 12 (if accompanying an adult) or 18 (if accompanying a child), and capable of assisting the participant for the duration of the experience and zoo visit.
7. Additional Animal Adoptions Terms & Conditions
Please contact us within two months of winning your prize if you have not received your adoption pack in the post. Any claims after the two month period cannot be honoured. Your complimentary ticket will not be valid until you have received your adoption pack.
Please allow 28 days for delivery of your adoption pack. We cannot be held liable for any delivery delays following dispatch.
Please note, we can only send out adoption packs to addresses within the UK.
We cannot guarantee your adopted animal will be visible on the day you visit. Allow time to revisit their exhibit throughout the day to avoid disappointment.
We aim to display adopter’s names in the zoo as soon as possible, but this may take up to 28 days.
All adopted animals remain the property of our zoos which reserve the right to move them to other establishments as may be necessary. Adopter’s will be notified of any such moves and offered the opportunity to transfer the adoption to another animal.
