We're home to Asiatic lions, the slightly smaller cousin of the African lion. Asiatic lions are listed as an Endangered species with less than 400 estimated to be surviving in the wild, in the Gir National Park and Lion Sanctuary in India. There are conservation breeding programmes in zoos to help boost the populatuion size, including a European Endangered species Programme (EEP).

How do I adopt a lion?

First choose the adoption package you wish to purchase frm the options below and then make your animal selection.

Adoptions apply to the species rather than individual animals. This is because some of our animals may move to other zoos as part of breeding programmes. If your adopted species moves, we will advise you and you will be given the opportunity to transfer your adoption to another species.
