Paignton Zoo unveils amazing new play area for its youngest visitors
Paignton Zoo has announced the exciting addition of a new baby area to its indoor soft play centre, Jungle Fun.
The area will cater to children aged between 0 to 12 months, and has been designed by Soft Play Solutions, a local business.
Eve Thompson, Visitor Experience supervisor, said:
“We’re delighted to finally be able to offer something for the very little ones. Infants under 12 months old will now have their own, age-appropriate area to play safely in.”
The renovations took place during the zoo’s closure in January and will be unveiled to the public on Saturday 20 January. The honour of performing the ribbon cutting ceremony, as well as the chance to be the first to enjoy Jungle Fun, has been opened up to the public in a members-only competition. The lucky winner will get to explore the entirety of Jungle Fun all to themselves for the first 15 minutes before it opens to the public.
The opening of the new baby area coincides with an event featuring CBBC’s Bing and Flop that is also running from the 20th January at no extra cost to visitors, making this an ideal time for families with small children to book their visit to Paignton Zoo.
Paignton Zoo have also announced that they will be introducing a small admission fee to non-members. Visitor Experience manager, Mandy Plester, commented:
“We know how popular Jungle Fun is with our visitors, and by charging a very small fee for non-members of only £2 per child, we will be able to raise the funds to continue upgrading Jungle Fun. We have some really exciting plans for the soft play area that we just know the public are going to love.”
