Paignton Zoo launches prize draw to celebrate reopening of iconic exhibit
Paignton Zoo is thrilled to announce the successful completion of its community-driven fundraising campaign, ‘Bring Back the Swamp,’ which has raised an impressive £15,000. Thanks to the incredible generosity and support from the community, the beloved Crocodile Swamp exhibit is set to re-open soon.
Last month, the zoo revealed that preparations for the grand re-opening were already underway, with the event expected to take place in January. This achievement would not have been possible without the heartfelt contributions from supporters.
Stephen Kings, Chief Executive Officer of Paignton Zoo, expressed his gratitude:
“We are deeply grateful for the support shown to us by our zoo community. We can now officially announce that Crocodile Swamp will be re-opening very, very soon.”
To celebrate this milestone, Paignton Zoo is launching a unique prize draw. The grand prize includes an exclusive opportunity to feed a crocodile, the honour of cutting the ribbon at the grand re-opening ceremony, and a large cuddly crocodile toy, courtesy of the zoo’s retail partner, Nature Planet. Additionally, there will be several crocodile-themed runner-up prizes to be won.
Kings added:
“We wanted to offer something special in return for our supporters. This prize draw provides the perfect opportunity for one lucky winner to go behind the scenes and experience the thrill of feeding one of our crocodiles. It’s also a wonderful way for our supporters to continue contributing to the ongoing care of our animals.”
Paignton Zoo invites everyone to participate in this exciting opportunity to support the zoo and its crocodilian residents. The prize draw will officially open on 1 December and will run for 31 days, closing at midnight on New Year’s Eve.
