Paignton Zoo and Hunts Cider Launch Limited Edition ‘Whitley Blue’ Cider
Paignton Zoo is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of ‘Whitley Blue’, a limited edition cider created in collaboration with Hunts Cider. The launch event will take place on 9 November at Hunts Cider Farm in Stoke Gabriel, and the public is invited to be part of this special occasion.
Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive VIP preview of Whitley Blue cider, along with a guided tour of Hunts’ orchards and production facility. The tour will provide insights into the cider-making process, from apple to bottle. Guests will also be able to sample a variety of Hunts’ ciders, accompanied by freshly baked pasties.
Steph Dawson, Business Development Executive for Paignton Zoo, commented:
“We are excited to welcome everyone to the launch of Whitley Blue. It will be a great opportunity to celebrate Herbert Whitley’s legacy and support our conservation efforts. We appreciate everyone who will attend and contribute to the event’s success.”
Whitley Blue is more than just a cider; it’s a tribute to Herbert Whitley, the founder of Paignton Zoo, and his passion for the colour blue. A percentage of the proceeds from Whitley Blue will go to Paignton Zoo’s charity, Wild Planet Trust, supporting their vital conservation work. The Trust is dedicated to protecting biodiversity, including sowing wildflower meadows to support pollinators like bees, butterflies, and beetles, which are crucial for the ecosystem and agriculture.
Whitley Blue cider will be available for purchase for those attending the event. Additionally, a limited selection of Whitley Blue cider is also now available in the zoo’s gift shop for those eager to be among the first to taste it.
