All Aboard! Paignton Zoo to Offer Mini Train Rides This Bank Holiday Weekend

Paignton Zoo has announced that it will be once again offering a much-loved visitor experience this August Bank Holiday weekend. For a limited time only, visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to enjoy a nostalgic ride on Lakeside, in front of the zoo’s Island Restaurant, on board a miniature train.

While not a replacement for the beloved Jungle Express, which held a special place in the hearts of many visitors, this exciting new addition will offer a fun and family-friendly way to explore the zoo. The charming sit-on train, provided by Plym Valley Railway, will be in operation from 9.30am until 5pm daily throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.

Tickets for the mini train will be £1 per person, offering excellent value for money and a memorable experience for all ages.

Stephen Kings, Executive Chair of Wild Planet Trust, commented:

“We understand that the removal of the Jungle Express was disappointing for many of our visitors. We hope that this mini train will bring back some of that magic and provide a delightful treat for families visiting the zoo this Bank Holiday weekend.”

The zoo is encouraging visitors to book their zoo tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. Please note the train tickets are not pre-bookable. limited. Visitors are also encouraged to take advantage of the zoo’s ‘Come Back Zoon’ summer offer, allowing you to pay once and visit twice.
