The October half-term is right in the middle of Autumn, which is a fantastic time to spend a day with your loved ones enjoying the crisp fresh air and autumnal scenes. Dig out your warm coats and boots and connect with wildlife and nature around our beautiful 80-acre zoo.

the great big brick safari

Our Great Big Brick Safari event is a great added extra for all ages on a half-term zoo trip. Over 80 wild animal creations made from thousands of LEGO® bricks are in residence at the zoo every day until 3rd January 2021, forming a trail that guests can follow with the help of our Great Big Brick Safari map. You can download a version of the up-to-date event map right here.

Search our zoo grounds and exhibits to spot all of the models, coming face to face with a life-sized lion, gorilla, hyenas, kangaroos, macaws and much more!

covid-19 safety measures

At the zoo we are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable visit for all of our guests that visit the zoo. Our Covid-19 safety measures continue to remain in place, including social distancing signage, hand sanitiser points and the requirement of face coverings to be worn by guests in indoor areas (for those who are able to).

We have also been accredited by the VisitEngland 'Good To Go' scheme, to recognise that we’re adhering to all the required public health and safety regulations and guidance. Please see our Updates webpage to find out full details about all the safety measures in place and which small number of indoor exhibits remain closed for your safety.
Like many other attractions and charities, we’re continuing to monitor the ever-changing situation and will absolutely provide any further updates if anything changes.

pre-booking online is essential

We are limiting the number of guests at the zoo each day, so absolutely all guests, including Annual Pass holders, must pre-book their half-term visit online. Entry is permitted in half-hour time slots throughout the day.
We are anticipating the half-term holiday to be busy and therefore pre-booking is essential to secure your visit and avoid any disappointment. We cannot permit any walk-up visits from guests who have not pre-booked.

Due to the current guidelines, we are currently unable to permit any groups of guests with more than six people into the zoo - unless your single household family 'bubble' or educational group has more than six people in it.

All Under 3s and Carers must also be booked a space on a time slot. We also cannot transfer any ticket or time slot bookings once made.
