The towering figure in natural history television returns to Paignton Zoo.
Sir David Attenborough has made a return visit to Paignton Zoo in Devon. The man widely regarded as the greatest natural history broadcaster of all time came to the top zoological park to film for series four of Attenborough’s Natural Curiosities.
Paignton Zoo spokesperson Phil Knowling said: “It was an absolute honour to welcome the face and voice of natural history television back to Paignton Zoo. He was first here in August 2014. This time he filmed with ostrich, giant tortoises, emu and kangaroos. They asked us not to let on beforehand, because they were worried that crowds would cause delays.”
During a short break in filming he was presented with a 90th birthday cake made by Paignton Zoo staff member Julie Gibson and featuring an amazing three-dimensional baby orang utan, which he greatly admired.
The veteran broadcaster has inspired many people both at the charity and across the country with his knowledge and passion for the natural world.
