This has got to be the best value natural history course ever offered.

Torquay Museum Society and Paignton Zoo have teamed up to run a botany course offering 80 years of plant experience – for just £10 per session.

Course tutors include Audrey Berrie, who is a botanist and Torquay Museum Education Officer, tree expert Bob Watson and Kevin Frediani, the Curator of Plants and Gardens at Paignton Zoo.

Kevin explained: "There are six sessions with lectures, demonstrations and hands-on working with plant specimens. We'll look at the hows and whys of plants, drawing on 80 years of academic and practical experience.

"The course is suitable for a wide range of people with or without previous knowledge - amateurs and professionals alike are going to get a lot out of this. And it's going to be great fun!"

All sessions run from 2.00pm to 5.00 pm, starting on Saturday 14th April. The sessions run through April and May – there are 20 spaces available. The cost is £10.00 per session for members of Torquay Museum Society or Paignton Zoo and £15 for non-members. For further information telephone 01803 613289 or 01803 298051.
