CBBC and Paignton Zoo are offering visitors the chance to preview the first two episodes of the new CBBC series, The Zoo, on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th August before its national transmission.

The Zoo, narrated by Outnumbered star Hugh Dennis and a team of comedy voice artists brings the animals of Paignton Zoo magically to life in this hilarious new series for CBBC. Finally, we get to hear what the inhabitants really think about life at The Zoo.

The screenings will take place in the Animal Encounters building and there will also be some fun CBBC themed activities taking place over the weekend for children to get involved with.

Phil Knowling, Communications Manager, Paignton Zoo, says: “Everyone at Paignton Zoo and Living Coasts enjoyed working with the film crew and the finished programmes are huge fun. This weekend is a chance to see a couple of episodes before they are shown on TV – a real added bonus for Zoo visitors.”

The Zoo will be shown on CBBC from Monday 14th August at 8:45am and on the BBC iPlayer after that.

Important information

  • There will be no Winged Wonders bird show over the weekend
  • The screening and CBBC themed activities are free to Paignton Zoo Annual Pass Holders and guests once they have paid their admission fee
  • We anticipate the screenings and CBBC themed activities to be popular therefore places will be limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis
