Come and join one of our days out at the zoo especially for home educators!
There will be a range of topics available throughout the year so you can discover something new each time you come. We will be offering exciting workshops and enclosure sessions with one of our experienced zoo education officers and you can take part in our activities and listen to talks that will be happening at different animal enclosures around the zoo.
Workshops
Each term we will offer a workshop for a specific age group. Workshops take place in the education building and last 45-60 minutes. Learner are encouraged to attend the workshops independently (we will prepare a separate space nearby for parents and guardians to rest) and will take part in a range of discussion and activities. Workshops are optional and cost an additional £3 per learner. Places are limited and reservation of a place is essential at time of booking.
Enclosure meets
Join one of our educators at an enclosure as they chat about the animals and link them to the theme of the talk. Enclosure meets are open to all, although the content will be suitable, based on the national curriculum for the age stated. Enclosure meets are free and there is no additional reservation required.
We are offering reduced admission prices for Home Educators, with children aged 5 – 16 at £10.95 each, and adults at £13.75 each. There is a maximum of 1 adult per child under these rates, up to a maximum of up to 4 children per adult. Any additional children or adults outside of these will be charged standard day rates for admission.
