Behaviour
Emperor tamarins are active during the day. They hunt for insects on leaves, vines and branches in the lower and middle levels of trees in the forest. Group members sleep together in vine covered trees.
Breeding
2 offspring are born after a gestation of between 140-145 days.
Threats
Habitat destruction.
Conservation
Paignton Zoo is part of the European Endangered species Programme (EEP) which is managed by Lisbon Zoo, Portugal.
