Although our volunteers don't have direct contact with the animals, they help support an extensive range of activities and projects which contribute directly to Paignton Zoo and our conservation work.
In return you will be provided with a uniform, invited to social events for staff and volunteers and have the satisfaction of helping a local conservation charity.
Please take a look at our Volunteer Roles for further details of each role: (click on the links below for details of each individual role in pdf format).
If you are interested please:
- decide which role/s you are interested in (read the Volunteer Roles aboce for more information), how many hours and on which days you can commit time (nearly all the activities cover a 7 day rota).
- download, complete (please tick the categories for the type of roles you are interested in on the interest form) and return the interest form:
- via e-mail to volunteering@paigntonzoo.org.uk (please add 'Paignton Zoo Volunteering' to the subject line)
- or by post to: Volunteer Co-ordinator, Paignton Zoo, Totnes Road, Paignton, TQ4 7EU.
If you would like more information please contact the Volunteer Co-ordinator
Please note:
All volunteers must be aged 16 years or over (except Event Team Volunteers, who are accepted from 14 years of age)
You will be required to bring your passport to the informal discussion, plus a copy of the front cover, the photo page and any visa pages. You will also need to bring your National Insurance card or number with you.
Due to the volume of interest we receive you will only be contacted if you are short listed. If short listed you will be invited to come in for an informal discussion on volunteering at Paignton Zoo.
