Located in the heart of the Zoo and overlooking Gibbon Island, the Island Restaurant is the ideal place to stop for a freshly cooked breakfast, morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea.
Serving a wide range of food, from sandwiches, cakes and ice-creams to delicious main meals, salads and jacket potatoes, plus children's boxes containing a sandwich, fairtrade juice carton, fromage frais and pack of dried fruit. The Island Restaurant is open daily from 10.00 a.m. until half an hour before the Zoo closes. There is plenty of seating inside, or on sunny days why not enjoy your meal on the lawn outside the restaurant?
The Island Restaurant is also available for children's birthday parties, private or corporate events.
The Café Bar, next to the Island Restaurant is fully licensed and open every day all year round, serving a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. You will find a good selection of lagers, bitters, ciders, wines, spirits and fruit juices.
There's plenty of seating inside or out on the patio for those lovely sunny days. So why not enjoy a nice drink in our bar whilst watching the gibbons playing in the trees?
This coffee shop and takeaway offers a range of snacks including Cornish pasties by Proper Cornish, freshly ground fairtrade coffee, tea and hot chocolate, freshly made snacks and bottled drinks.
Open from 10.00 a.m., it's ideal for those visitors who may be peckish and can't resist a steak, vegetable or cheese and onion pasty and a cup of coffee.
There are various kiosks located around the Zoo serving ice-cream, fast food and other snacks, as well as hot and cold drinks.
Please note: The Island restaurant is open from 10am every day, apart from Christmas Day. The various kiosks located around the zoo are seasonal and closing times for all our food outlets vary throughout the year. A member of our reception staff will be able to inform you where you can purchase food and drink on the day of your visit.
