Welcome to Paignton Zoo
Easter at Paignton Zoo 20/03/2008
Good Friday to Bank Holiday Monday at Paignton Zoo Environmental Park will feature a traditional Easter egg hunt – with a zoological twist.

Two trails will focus on the creatures – not just birds – that lay eggs at the Zoo and on the different sizes of egg. Children will be led on a magical mystery tour around the 80 acre site, finishing at the Easter Egg Station. Five lucky children will win the once-in-a-life-time opportunity to feed the Zoo’s giant tortoises.

Paignton Zoo spokesperson Phil Knowling said: “The Zoo looks terrific at this time of year. The flowering cherry, Australian wisteria and common magnolia are all out and the giant rhubarb down by the lake is starting to open its leaves. The miniature train is running, the free bird show starts again – everything is buzzing. The Easter egg trails give the kids something special to do on top of seeing all the animals – and they get some chocolate afterwards!”

All trails completed successfully will receive some small chocolate eggs within a larger egg-shaped container. Five of these larger eggs will be golden inside and will win you the chance to feed the Zoo’s giant tortoises at a later date.

In addition, Cuba the crocodile will be around the Zoo giving out stickers and Easter bugs in the run-up to the opening of Crocodile Swamp in April.
