This is your opportunity to get a taste of veterinary work in a zoo and have a look behind the scenes. Spend a day with the veterinary staff and observe any cases seen that day. This is an example of some of the activities you could be involved in. Due to the nature of the work we cannot guarantee which activities you will do and they are subject to change without notice.
During the day you will get the chance to:
• loading some darts and seeing how good your aim is
• assisting with taking and developing a radiograph
• helping to dispense a prescription
• visiting some of the catch up facilities around the Zoo
• taking part in some animal training
• packing up samples for the laboratory
• trying out the anaesthetic monitoring equipment
The cost for this fantastic opportunity to be a Vet for a Day is only £150, which includes lunch and a special memento of your day.
