Welcome to Paignton Zoo

Tanzania

Abbott’s duiker is a poorly known species endemic to the highland forests of Tanzania, it appears to be undergoing a serious decline.

The lack of detailed information makes it difficult to document this decline and little is known about the biology of this species even in areas where it appears to be comparatively common. This research project investigates the biology and conservaton of this elusive species and is conducted by Paignton Zoo’s Field Projects Assistant, Andrew Bowkett.
