An animal adoption is a unique gift that helps conservation too!
It doesn't just have to be a gift for someone else, why not treat yourself? By adopting an animal, your money will make a real contribution to Paignton Zoo’s vital conservation work.
The Zoo has an annual food bill of £200,000 per year and its weekly shopping list includes 300 lettuces, 20 crates of bread, and hay by the tonne. Veterinary care, heating costs and cleaning all help to make the care of our animals a very expensive activity.
How much does it cost?
You can adopt any animal at the Zoo for one year for £35.00, £49 for a special Adoption Gift Pack or £60 for a limited edition rhino adoption pack.
Which animals can I adopt?
You can adopt any animal in the Zoo. Go to the animal section to choose your animal.
Adoption Gift Packs are only available on selected animals (Cuban Crocodile, Saltwater Crocodile, African Elephant, Rothschild Giraffe, Western Lowland Gorilla, Slender-Tailed Meerkat, Asiatic Lion, Bornean Orang Utan, Black Rhinoceros, Sumatran Tiger, Hartmann Zebra and Red Panda).
What do adopters receive?
- An adopter's certificate.
- Wallet sized magnetic card near your chosen animal for 12 months. The adopter will receive this card to stick on the fridge, once the adoption has expired.
- A photograph of your animal.
- A year's subscription to Zoo News.
- One free ticket to the Zoo.
If you buy an A nimal Adoption Gift Pack you will receive all the above plus a soft toy of the adopted animal and a fact sheet about your animal, all packed in a superb presentation box.

Limited Edition - Rhino adoption gift pack

Terms and Conditions
Please allow 28 days for delivery of your adoption pack. Paignton Zoo cannot be held liable for any delivery delays following dispatch. Please contact us within 2 months of placing your order if you have not received your adoption pack in the post. Any claims after the 2 month period cannot be honoured.
All adopted animals remain the property of Paignton Zoo who reserve the right to move them to other establishments as may be necessary. Adopters will be notified of any such moves or re-visit the website for up-to-date information.
