A plant or zoo habitat adoption is a unique gift that helps conservation too!
It doesn’t just have to be a gift for someone else, why not treat yourself? By adopting a plant, your money will make a real contribution to Paignton Zoo’s vital conservation work.
Adoption options
Plant and habitat adoptions
You can adopt a ‘share’ of any of the carefully selected plants or zoo habitats for £35 and you can purchase as many ‘shares’ as you wish. In return for your generosity you will receive:
- An adopter’s certificate
- An adopter’s plaque sited near your chosen plant or in the habitat zone
- A fact sheet about your chosen species/habitat
- A year’s subscription to Zoo News
- One free ticket to the Zoo for each share purchased
Plants and habitats to choose from are:
Plants: Our national scientific Buddleja collection, Katsura tree, Holm oak, Red oak, Sargent's magnolia, Wellingtonia, Judas tree, Japanese raisin tree, New water iris collection, Giant water lily, Trumpet tree, Yunnan pine, Bentham's cornel.
Zoo habitat zones: Savannah, Forest, Wetlands, Desert, Tropical forest.
Plant adoption gift packs
If you really want to get involved then this is the ideal option. These special packs include seeds for plants that are being used to develop the look and feel of the Zoo’s habitat zones for you to create your own habitat at home.
Choose from:
- Mediterranean mix and establish a drought tolerant garden – low maintenance but high impact
- Savannah border mix, a mixture of perennials and grasses that are the backbone of the Zoo’s savannah border. This mix is low maintenance but has year round interest with a twist of unusual combinations
The packs include a plant or habitat adoption of your choice from the list above, all of the benefits from the 'adopt a share' option plus:
- A packet of seeds with full growing instructions
- All packed in a superb presentation box
