Welcome to Paignton Zoo

Useful information

Where we are
Stretching along 22 miles of stunning South Devon coastline, the beautiful English Riviera has been a popular holiday destination for centuries. Sandy beaches, rocky coves, picturesque harbours and a wonderfully mild climate combine to attract visitors seeking a unique experience.

The three Riviera towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham surround the natural, sheltered Bay which, with a south-easterly aspect, forms an ideal suntrap and boasts many Blue Flag beaches. Each town lends its own individual character to a holiday, so whether it is for a relaxing break enjoying local gastronomy, an action-packed visit out on the waves, or a fun-filled family trip, the English Riviera offers something for everyone!

How to find us

By road: Take the exit for A380 off M5. Paignton Zoo is located on the A3022
Totnes Road, 1 mile from Paignton town centre. Once in Paignton follow the brown tourist signs, marked with an elephant and Zoological Gardens. The Zoo is situated near to Morrisons supermarket.

By train: First Great Western and Crosscountry serve both Torquay and Paignton
stations. The Zoo is a ½ hour walk from Paignton station. There is a taxi rank outside and bus station across the road.

By air: Our nearest airport is Exeter International. Onward travel is recommended to be by taxi (approx. 40 minutes).

Things to do
There are plenty of pubs, restaurants and nightclubs in both Paignton and Torquay, although there is a greater variety in Torquay. There is a bus stop at Beverley Park with direct buses to Torquay and a taxi will cost around £10.
